Island Home Access

About

Helping Island families age in place.

Vancouver Island has one of the highest concentrations of seniors in Canada. Most want to stay in their homes—but finding trustworthy contractors and navigating government grants shouldn't require a PhD.

We built Island Home Access because we've been there.

Searching for "grab bar installation Victoria" at 11pm. Wondering if that contractor will actually show up. Trying to decode BC Housing paperwork. There had to be a better way.

We created a curated directory—not a generic listing site where anyone can pay to appear. Every professional in our network has been personally against strict criteria.

Because when you're helping a parent stay safe, or planning your own future, you deserve better than a gamble.

Modern accessible living space

Our Standard

What "vetted" actually means.

01

Island Presence

Every contractor has a verified Vancouver Island address. A 250, 778, or 236 area code. Neighbors who depend on their reputation in this community.

02

RAHA Familiarity

We prioritize contractors familiar with BC Housing paperwork and documentation requirements.

03

Insurance Verified

$2M+ commercial general liability coverage verified at time of listing.

04

Accessibility Experience

Demonstrated experience with home accessibility modifications. We look for contractors who understand aging-in-place needs.
